bone marrow transplant

I have CGD and so does my 11 year old son Jordan. We went to have HLA typing done for a bone marrow transplant 1 1/2 weeks ago. Jordan does not have any full siblings so hopefully there will be a match in the bone marrow bank. We were told at the hospital where he will have the BMT that there were eight boys that have had a bone marrow transplant 4 with unrelated donors all but one survived and are all healthy and living without cdg(praise GOD). The one that died was very sick with cgd related infictions before they even started the BMT, his chances for survival were not good to begin with. Please keep Jordan in your prayers. God is in control and if this BMT is in God's will, there will be a donor for him and he will be cured too. If anyone has any info on an unrelated bmt please let me know... We have always had 100% faith in God and that makes such a huge difference in our lives in dealing with CGD..... God Bless each and every one of you....KEEP YOUR FAITH.... THAT IS THE KEY.... Hi Tessie,

 I just read your blog regarding your son Jordon. I am very interested in how you started the whole process of bmt. I have a 10 year old son with x-linked cgd. He has a younger brother who has been HLA typed but no match. My husband and myself have thought about bmt and weighing out the risks. My son has been pretty healthy through the years. Are there only certain hospitals that will do unrelated donor bmt? I know NIH was only doing related sibling donor at the time I was looking into it. You can e-mail me at dlpaquette@comcast.net

wanted to let you know, zach and jaxsen, my sons, are here at duke now undergoing bmts,  very hard, but we have faith...their website is: caringbridge.org/visit/zach and jaxsen

i have been journaling daily if you want to take a look.  no matter the hard days, we feel this was God's time, drs. assure us the boys are at the better end of the spectrum right now.
