Family & Medical Leave Act

I just wanted to let everyone know that you can use the Family and Medical Leave Act for yourself to protect your job. My boss came to me a couple weeks ago and told me all about it. Apparently it protects you up to 12 weeks of unpaid medical leave time per year. This does not have to be used consecutively. You can use a day here or there and even use it by the hour to go to doctor appointments. I have been with my company for over eight years and they have always been good about me missing work because of my CGD, but this makes it official that they can't use any absence related to CGD against me. I think it's great that they are the ones who told me about this act. Hopefully this information helps some of you out.

I also have used the Family and Medical Leave Act for time away with my son's surgeries.  I've had to use it for weeks at a time and my company was wonderful.  It is a wonderful security though.  Thank you for telling people about this.
