BMT and heredity![]() I understand that bone marrow transplants can cure the individual being treated, but since BMT treats the neurophils and not the gene, does that mean the CGD gene can still be passed on by those who have been "cured?"

My son Jordan will have a bmt in February at Texas Children's in Houston and his immunologist up there told me that after being cured he needed to have counseling when he got older so that Jordan would know the risks involved.... meaning that his daughters could have the gene to be carriers. I hope this answers your question.
