Port Cathetors

Hello All,

I am going to be getting a main line and i need to choose between a Port or a hycamin. Anyone had a port? Is it easy to access? Keep clean?

 Any thoughts and or suggestions would be great!

My son Kobe has a port he is six. For him this is great, he can swim, take showers/ baths normal. We have used it for two major infections. He had it placed in 2007 and it is still working great. We only access it once a month when he is not doing Iv antibiotics, the needle does scare him, but we numb it and he feels nothing. I hope this helps out a bit.
