Pray for Erik Hurley Dear Friends, If you pray, please say a prayer for Erik Hurley, age 32. He entered ICU October 18th and is still there. He's not doing well and I believe his time is short. Such a terrible disease. It started with the H1N1 although he had Scedosporium, a dangerous fungus, and Aspergillus niger. He's been on a ventilator, but his breathing is worse; he has fevers and is sleeping like in a coma. Alan, my husband, is spending the night. Stephen, age 28, and has CGD is very close to his brother. They shared an apartment. CGD is such a rough disease. We have to find a cure. Please someone post this on the facebook pages. I'm not too familiar with faceboodk. Thanks, Mary Hurley

Dear Mary, Alan, and Stephen, May each of you be granted strength and peace enough for yourself and more to offer each other. Dear friends, Our dear Erik Hurley passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 2:15 a.m. after close to 4 months in ICU. He was only 32 years old, but his body just couldn’t handle the multiple infections anymore. We miss him terribly. Stephen, age 28 who also has CGD was so very close to his dear brother. They did everything together. Erik is at peace now with Jesus and has no more fear, anxiety, or pain. We just have to find a cure for all those that suffer from CGD. Thanks for your prayers. Joey I pray that the Dr's are able to find the right medication to combat the fungus/bacterium that he is fighting. Keep us updated on his condition. This is a terrible disease that we have.
